            Helictotrichon sempervirens

Evergreen 2-3 ft. fountains of bright blue-gray, narrow leaves resemble giant clumps of blue fescue (Festuca ovina ' Glauca'), but are more graceful. Plants need full sun, good drainage. Combine with other grasses and broad-leafed plants, and with boulders in rock gardens. Pull out occasional withered leaves. Loves full sun, regular water.

Mexican Feather Grass, Texas Needle Grass.
Very thin bright green leaves form erect clumps that arch outward toward the top. Numerous thin flowering stems divide and redivide into almost hairlike fineness, green at first, then golden. Single or scattered clumps are effective among ground cover or boulders, on sloped. Larger plantings can create erosion control. Water regularly, but soil should dry out between irrigations. Can self-sow in irrigated gardens.

1 gal Mexican Feather Grass $3.50 ea.

            Feather Reed Grass
Karl Foerster feather reed grass is what is known as a "metamorphic grass." This is described as being in perpetual motion. The slightest breeze sets this grass waving, creating a graceful appearance to the landscape.
Use the grass in a mass planting for the best effect. Plant it by a water feature and you also get treated to the reflection of this movement. Feather reed grass can also be used as a speceim to add vertical contrast with plants that have round or horizontal shapes. It makes a nice screen along property lines. Some people like it in patio pots. The grass tassels can be cut and used in fresh or dried flower arrangements. If they are cut before they mature, the cut stems will last for months. Rainstorms will flatten the plant temporarily, but they spring back upright shortly after the has passed. It does best in well drained fertile soil but will tolerant heavier clay soils and dry sites. Fertilizer helps ensure that your grass reaches its full potential. It is relatively free from insects and disease. In mild winters, the grass may remain green all year. Seeds are sterile, so there is no chance of this grass self sowing and spreading out of control. Loves Full sun. Growth Rate Moderate. Flower Color Pinkish-Purple, Bloom Time May to February. Grows 3 to 5 feet tall & 1 1/2 to 2/1/2 ft. wide

1 gal Karl Foerster $3.50 ea.
